I've been thinking about this very thing. Curiosity is almost always at odds with discipline. One extreme is chaos, the other is a machine-like existence. Kids are more curious and less disciplined than adults (generally speaking). The trick is knowing the right time for each; a time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together.
